Francine Fang joining Balyasny as Global Head of Systematic

In 2025, Francine Fang will lead BAM’s growing quant business bringing over 25 years’ experience and a proven track record of working with top performing quant teams.

Francine will be joining BAM as the Global Head of Systematic. In this newly created role, she will be responsible for growing systematic strategies, working with investment teams to help them scale. She brings significant domain expertise in quantitative trading strategies, risk, and infrastructure, having worked with many top performing quant teams.

Prior to joining BAM, Francine spent 8 years at Point 72, most recently as Deputy Head of Investments at Cubist Systematic Strategies, LLC. She was actively involved in all aspects of the quant business, including supervising quantitative portfolio managers, hiring teams, and managing risk and capital allocation.

Previously, Francine was the Head of Options Market Making Group at GETCO / Knight Capital Group (KCG). She was also a Managing Director at JP Morgan where she was the Head of Liquidity Provision Group in Equities. Francine began her career at UBS Investment Bank on the Convertible Bonds Trading Desk, and later served as the Global Head of Electronic Market Making Team. Francine received her MEng and BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
