Finalists meet in NYC
Last week, we hosted the finals of our winter university stock pitch competition. The five top teams, selected from 30 participating schools, travelled to New York for the two-day event.
The panel of judges selected two winning teams from the University of Alabama and Indiana University, both taking home grants for their investment clubs’ activities. This was our second US stock pitch competition, and the fourth globally.

An opportunity to network and learn from industry leaders
The five top teams also participated in an evening networking reception with leadership from across the firm and a Q&A with Gappy Paleologo, Global Head of Quantitative Research, and Steve Schurr, Senior Managing Director of Fundamental Equities.
"We want to make sure that all students get an experience that helps them to develop their research process and become better investors," said Hannah Dinardo, Head of Balyasny's Campus Recruitment program. "That's why we center the process on feedback from our Investment Teams providing coaches to help the students understand how they can improve their pitches."
