Carson Boneck, CFA is chief data officer at Balyasny Asset Management (BAM), where he oversees the firm’s data sourcing, data science, webscraping, systematic data, and applied AI teams. He is also a member of the firm's Management Committee. Carson joined BAM in 2016 as managing director of quantitative research within BAM’s long-short equity business. Carson joined from S&P Global Market Intelligence, where he served as global head of investment management, with responsibilities for Capital IQ, data science, and the firm’s data collection and data feed businesses. Before that, Carson worked in quantitative equity research at various sell-side boutiques, such as the Quantitative Services Group and Schwab Soundview Capital Markets. Carson is the past secretary and former board member of NYC’s Society of Quantitative Analysts. He is also a former board member of the CFA Society of Chicago. Carson was twice named a Top 100 Data Professional by Data IQ and one of the top data scientists on Wall Street by Rebellion Research. Carson has a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from Indiana University and has been a CFA charter holder since 2001.
